Notes: The second item, published in the Sevenoaks Chronicle on the 9th September 1921, regards the postponement of the original flying agenda. It appears that flying probably commenced the following week from the 16th to 22nd September? The fourth item, another advert in the Sevenoaks Chronicle seems to support this idea?
Note: I have added the last picture from my Google Earth © based database.
NOTES:
It is interesting to note, that even today, this location is still named after the racecourse.
Stallards Airways who, it appears, were based at St Leonards and Hastings. But where? It does seem, they had a single pilot operating probably an Avro 504 type (?) for Stallards Airways, was performing at several locations in the area? This was of course a quite common situation in those days, with several itinerant pilots with a single aeroplane, invariably an Avro 504K, or 504N, arriving at various sites to give 'joy rides'.
