Location:    4.5nm S of Uttoxeter

Period of operation:  Military:  1940 to 1945         

 

Runways:    WW2:       All-over grass listed as approx:      N/S 600 x E/W 600



NOTES:  It appears that 5 EFTS, based at MEIR, first used this aerodrome from mid 1940 until December 1941.

Listed in 1944 as having one officer, 4 NCOs and 70 other ranks.

Abbots Bromley... please note the old military airfield is a completely separate site to the active farm strip at Yeatshall Farm. The article could be interpreted to read it’s the same site chronologically.
