Adderley Park

Note: We have only a rough idea of the location. If anybody could be kind enough to provide a more exact location, this will be much appreciated.

ADDERLEY PARK: Civil aerodrome

Operated by: Wolsley Motors

Location: 2nm E of New Street railway station in Birmingham city centre

Period of operation: 1915 to 1918

NOTES: Does listing this aerodrome in WARWICKSHIRE, plus it’s name of course, give you ideas about a rural idyl set in rolling green countryside? As it did for me when I first came across a  menton of it? Mick Easington of Cross & Cockade soon put me straight - it’s almost smack in the city centre of modern Birmingham and was known as BIRMINGHAM aerodrome! That is why you’ll also find it listed in the WEST MIDLANDS section.
