Allenheads grouse moor

Note: This map only shows the position of Allenheads village within the UK.

ALLENHEADS GROUSE MOOR:  Private helipad

Picture of helipad
Picture of helipad

Note:  This picture was obtained from the Hexham Courant newspaper.

Operated by:  Mr Jeremy Herrmann

Location:  Not known exactly, but apparently in the Byerhope Valley

Period of operation:  From 2018?

NOTES:  I have Mike Charlton to thank for this. He noticed it being mentioned in the Hexham Courant, as it was the subject of a planning permission controversy.

The main reason for including it in this 'Guide' is simply because I am not aware of a properly constructed private helipad anywhere else in the UK being made in such a remote location - well away from habitation.

This area was originally in NORTHUMBERLAND but is now known in DURHAM.
