Alton Towers

Note: This map only gives the general location of Alton Towers within the UK. If anybody knows where the helipad was this advice will be most welcome.

ALTON TOWERS: Private helipad/helicopter landing area

Location: Inside Alton Towers Pleasure Park, N of B5032, Inm N of Alton

Period of operation: 1980s only?

NOTES: Rather strangely it seems to me, the only mention of this location is in a 1980s airfield guide. Surely it is still operational? But maybe not, is it possible the ‘Barmy Army’ brigade of Health & Safety and/or County Council closed it down for example?
