Annan flying sites

ANNAN: Temporary aerodrome
NOTES: Several years ago I made this entry: "On the 27th June 1933 Sir Alan Cobham’s No.1 Tour displayed in/near Annan. Did the location they used later become developed as RAF ANNAN? During my years of research for this ‘Guide’ it is pretty obvious that a few of the locations selected as suitable for hosting an intensive day or two of flying by the so called “Flying Circus” operations of the 1920s and 1930s later became significant military aerodromes in WW2 and indeed, some went on later to become major regional airports."
Thanks to research undertaken by Mike Holder, a great friend of this 'Guide', we now know the venue was some distance away. See the listing for BROATS.
