It is interesting to note that Severn Valley Sailplanes have had a facility very close by, since 1987, in Passage Road. But, do they operate this airstrip?

Note: This evocative picture has been scanned from a copy of Popular Flying magazine.

Location: Roughly 4nm NW of Frampton-on-Severn and about 8nm SW of Gloucester city centre

Period of operation:  ?

Runway:  03/21   690   grass

NOTES: It must have been many years ago that I cut this picture out of a copy of Popular Flying magazine. For obvious reasons it had considerable appeal, but, I foolishly did not make a note of which issue it was published in.

A part of the text in the cutting I made states: "Held at Arlingham, a small strip of farmland alongside the River Severn, the event was a completely informal affair which attracted a number of aircraft."

As always in this 'Guide', if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
