Arrowe Park

ARROWE PARK: Military airstrip

Location: Roughly 3nm SW of Birkenhead town centre

Period of operation: WW2, 1944 to 45 only?

NOTES: Nothing known about the airstrip? This said, Arrowe Park was, it seems, used by the U.S. Army with their 955 Ordnance Motor Vehicle Disposal Company based here. It would therefore seem likely that Piper L-4s and Stinson L-5s, at least, landed here on communications duties.
