The first two pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©. The local area view is from my Google Earth © derived database.

Operated by:  Mr M A Jeffries

Location:  About 1.5nm NNE of Cheddar town centre. Roughly 6nm SSW of BRISTOL AIRPORT

Period of operation:  Unknown? Almost certainly from 1999 until 2004

Runway:   10/28   480   grass

Note:  Perhaps just my imagination of course, but looking at the picture, there is a hint that perhaps a 16/34 runway may have been used in strong southerly or northerly winds?

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location. He tells us that the Bolkow BO208C Junior, G-ATSX (ex D-EJUC), was seen here in 2004. No doubt it was, but must have been seen early on that year. Some investigation reveals that Mr Jeffries had this aircraft registered to him at this address, from 16.09.99 until 03.02.04.

Later images on Google Earth reveal that the strip soon fades out, so, it appears to have been quite short lived - which many private strips are of course. Indeed, some being laid out, (or should I say mowed?), for use during just one year. If anybody can kindly offer advice and information, this will be much appreciated.
