Note:  The first five pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©. The area view is from my Google Earth © derived database.

Location:  Just W of Cadeby village on the A447. About 1nm ESE to SE of Market  Bosworth town centre and roughly 9.5nm W to WSW of Leicester city centre

Period of operation:  Unknown? Clearly operational prior to 1999 and probably later. Fell into disuse from around 2006 until used again from 2011. Still in use in 2023?

Runways:  1999 =   08/26   260   grass            From 2011 =   06/24   215   grass

Note:  The 1999 picture clearly shows a curving addition to the southwest at the western end.

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide' to thank for pointing out this location. As always, if anybody can kindly offer advice and information this will be most welcome. Pictures are of course much appreciated.

I have been trying to wrack what little is left of my brains and memory, to think of another similar example to this location, and failed. With over 6000 locations already listed I might well be wrong of course. But, for private airstrips, possibly this is unique in that after it ceased being used, after a few years, a new runway was laid out.

It would certainly interest me as a lapsed PPL to know what types of aircraft have used this site over the years.
