Caerwent

Note: This map gives only a rough idea of where this location was within the UK. If anybody can provide a more exact location, this will be most welcome.

CAERWENT: Civil Landing Ground    (Aka CHEPSTOW?)

Operated by: Mrs A Rosser

Location: The address given was: “Court House Farm, Llanvair Discoed, Chepstow”

Period of operation: 1930s only?

Runway: 1933: Max. landing run: 549 grass

NOTES: In the AA (Automobile Association) list of approved Landing Grounds the location is given as; “5.5m W of Chepstow, imm N 48, Im W Caerwent village.” This would place it just SSE of the village of Llanvair Discoed which is spot on. The rather cryptic “imm N 48” surely means North of the A48 which is still the main road number.
