Callington

CALLINGTON: Private airstrip

Location: About 1nm S of Callington, and roughly 1.5nm WNW of St Mellion

Runway:  15/33   440   grass

NOTES: During Flying For Fun at KEMBLE 2006 Mr David Silsbury flew in with the Piper J3 Cub G-BHXY/479609, listing his departure point as CALLINGTON, which is a small town roughly 10nm NW of Plymouth city centre where the A390 and A388 cross. Is anything more known about this strip?

A DOUBLE LISTING?
I also have this airstrip listed at St MELLION. If anybody could kindly offer advice to sort this out, it will be much appreciated.

A good look around the area on Google Earth seems to reveal that this is the only airstrip in the area. However, the beauty of having a Piper Cub is that a runway is not required as any reasonably flatish field will do, which ca be on a slope of course and it doesn't have to be a large field.
