Location:  Car Park on the B822, 1.5nm NW of Lennoxtown village, about 0.5nm NNE of Glasgow city centre

Period of operation:  Unknown?  Certainly it appears in the 2000s, probably much longer?

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location.

Graham has also found this mention of Campsie Hills being used for gliding in the 1930s. We do not know the location, but clearly it is surely roughly in this area. Fintry is 5.5nm NNW of Lennoxtown.

FURTHER INFORMATION

This is an interesting location, not least because the Lanarkshire and Lothian Soaring Club web site contains severe warnings for pilots wishing to fly from here. They will need to be equipped with an altimeter as the site exists below the approach path to runway 23 at Glasgow International Airport.
