Cartmel racecourse

CARTMEL RACECOURSE: Private helicopter landing site

Location: Just NW of Cartmel, 12nm NE of Barrow-in-Furness, 11nm SW of Kendal

NOTES: Listed in the 1998 ‘Helicopter Sitefinder’ by John B Frost. CARK is given as an alternative landing site for visiting helicopters - so presumably, the area available at Cartmel racecourse is/was somewhat restricted? A most unusual if not unique feature amongst UK racecourses.
