Note: The newspaper article is from the Coventry Herald published on the 23rd July 1926.

I have added the Google Earth © view. Whilst this is not the same site, it is close enough to indicate where the original recreational grounds were to Coventry city centre.

Location:  In Radford, about 1nm N of Coventry city centre

Period of operation:  17th July 1926

Mrs Elliott Lynn at Orly
Mrs Elliott Lynn at Orly

Mike Holder tracked this picture down from Flight magazine. It shows Mrs Elliott Lynn taking place in a light aeroplane competition being held at Orly, south east of Paris in August 1926.

The organisers of the carnival contracted Mrs Elliott Lynn to give a display of aerobatics, which didn't go too well, (see newspaper article above), and Geoffrey Beck to provide joy-rides in a three-seater Avro 504K. This took place in the period prior to the emergence of the incredible 'Flying Circus' era, which lasted from 1929 to about 1936.
