Notes:  These four pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Location: Immediately W of the A.1, just NW of the B6347 junction. Roughly 5nm NNW of Alnwick town centre

Period of operation:  1990s (?) to -

Runway:  07/25   510   grass

NOTES: The initial evidence of this airstrip came from the AAIB report EW/G2011/05/18. This involved the Pioneer 300 G-EWES.

In an advert in Light Aviation magazine, (January 2020), the hangar, which can be seen in the third and fourth pictures above, was for sale. This was due to planned major roadworks on the A.1. Presumably due to widening the road which, to be fair, is only about fifty years overdue.

Does this mean that the airstrip will also be closed?
