NOTES:
It appears that around the start of the 21st century, the 'heliport' was being moved from the centre of the racecourse to a new site adjacent to and just N of the racecourse - as can be seen in the first picture.
A QUERY
In the AAIB report, AAIB-26884, it is stated; "....they still had just enough height to allow them to escape to the north and, potentially, land at the airstrip adjoining Cheltenham racecourse."
Some time ago I made this comment: "I cannot find any evidence of an airstrip at the racecourse in recent years, but, there appear to be snippets of information relating to an airstrip being available many years ago."
In October 2022 Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', discovered this advert placed by W F Aviation. It relates to the Morane Saulnier Rallye 110ST Gallopin, G-HENT (ex-OO-MBV), which landed here in 2021. At that time based in the Republic of Ireland.
