Note: The site map in 2016 was kindly provided by the hotel staff. The other three pictures were taken by the author in early November 2016.


 

Location: N of A337, SW outskirts of New Milton, about 4nm E of Christchurch

Period of operation: 1970 to -
 

Landing area: Originally this was in a large field situated to the E of the hotel, with a path to hotel, and the site of this can clearly be seen on the first picture. The new helicopter landing area, roughly to the WNW of the hotel, is marked by a blue circle on the map. 
 

NOTES: If the claims regarding this hotel helipad are correct, in that it has been operating since 1970, this is certainly one of only a few pioneering UK hotel 'helipads' that has survived over forty years of continuous operation.
