Claughan Lane

Note: This map does of course only show a rough location.

CLAUGHAN LANE: Temporary landing site

Location: Roughly 0.5nm NW of Ballyclare town centre

NOTES: Info source AAIB report EW/G2006/07/18. This report tells of a serious take-off accident involving the Thruster T600N-450 (G-CCCH), when the pilot was visiting a friend by using his grass field.

It is just one of several temporary landing sites listed in this 'Guide' simply to illustrate that such locations are often used by microlight and generally STOL light aircraft, plus of course a massive number used by helicopters.

And, I am pleased to say, in the vast majority of cases, these visits are made perfectly safely.
