Clotton

Note:  Some time ago I made this comment:  "A look at Google Earth shows a very distinct sign of a runway in this location - but no sign of a windsock or hangar. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome."  See 'Comment' below.

Location: About 0.5nm E of Clotton village on the A51, about 2.5nm NW of Tarporley, roughly 7.5nm ESE of Chester

Period of operation:  2003/4 to -

Runway: 10/28   265   grass       2021:  11/29   255   grass

NOTES: Initial info from the AAIB report EW/G2008.05/37. Almost certainly a microlight strip only? It appears the Kolb Twinstar Mk.III G-MYXS was based here in or around 2013.

My Dad set this strip up with the farmer around 2003/4 as a microlight strip, although he's no longer involved. There used to be a windsock at the Northwest corner of the strip, although it appears to have gone. The hangar is the top half of the agricultural building to the Southwest of the strip along a grass taxiway. I'm not sure who runs it now but there just to be half a dozen microlights based there.
