Note:  I do not know where the first item, a rather naff map, was published. The second picture was obtained from Google Earth ©, and both the local area and area views are from my Google Earth © derived database.

Location: One report says it is S of the A1041, E of Snaith, roughly 5nm WSW of Goole. Another says it is on the A645. This would appear to place it just SE of Snaith and W to NW of East Cowick? Then again, look at the Google Earth © pictures now provided.

Period of operation: 1970s and 1980s only?

Runways:   Initially =    15/33   grass         10/28   grass

It appears that after the Cessna 414, G-BAOZ, was acquired the 10/28  runway was lengthened and use of 15/33 discontinued.

NOTES: It appears that in the mid 1970s the Cessna 337D G-AWVS and Cessna 414 G-BAOZ, both operated by Cowick Hall Aviation Ltd were based here.

Prior to this, the Cessna 336 Skymaster, G-ASKS, (ex N1770Z), was registered to Cowick Hall Aviation from 09.05.68 until 12.03.71.

It also appears that the Cessna 180D, G-ARGC, (ex N6431X), a Robertson STOL version, was also seen here on a regular basis, or possibly based here?

The Cessna 337D Super Skymaster STOL, G-AWVS, (ex N2691S), was registered to Cowick Hall Aviation from 19.03.71 until 12.07.78. Then sold to Denmark.

The Cessna 414 Chancellor, G-BAOZ, (ex N1572T), was briefly re-registered in the USA as N46833, before being registered to Cowick Hall Aviation from 30.08.74 until 26.02.80. It crashed shortly afterwards near LEEDS - BRADFORD on the 23rd March 1980 during a post-overhaul test flight.
