The local and area views are from my Google Earth © derived database. The chart picture is from a half-mil Aeronautical Chart.

Location:  Roughly 3.5nm NE of Cheltenham town centre

Period of operation:  Unknown?

NOTES:  The first mention of this site that I came across is from the AAIB Bulletin September 2024 issue, report AAIB-29890. May well have noticed it on my half-mil chart when flying into and from GLOUCESTERSHIRE airport a couple or three times many years ago, but it is not named on the chart, which is why I have added it.

As you can see I have no idea if any particular launching area is favoured, but have noticed that quite often a number of launching sites can be favoured, presumably depending on the wind direction. A delve on the inter-web failed to reveal any details, so if anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
