Note: This map only shows a rough estimation of the site used. If anybody can kindly provide a more exact location, this advice will be most welcome.

CREW TOLL: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Berkshire Aviation Company

Location: Ferry Road, Edinburgh. Presumably near Newhaven?

Period of operation: 22nd December 1919

I think, looking at the slim evidence, they probably stayed here much longer?

NOTES: The age of the ‘Flying circus’ is, without any doubt, the late 1920s and perhaps even more so - the 1930s. However, it appears the Berkshire Aviation Company may well have been the first to conceive of the idea. Even if they weren't it now seems they were definitely the 'major player'.
