CROESYCEILLIOG: Military airstrip?

Location: Very roughly/probably 2nm S to SSE of Pontypool

NOTES: There appears to be evidence a military airstrip being operated here during WW2. Could anybody kindly confirmation this, and, if so, any more information will be much appreciated.
