CROOK'S HEIGHTS FARM:   Private airstrip/airfield       (Aka WITHNELL)

Location:  Just NW of Withnell village, about 4.5nm SW of Blackburn town centre, and roughly 7nm SE of Preston city centre

Period of operation:  No evidence in 2000, so from around c.2003/4 (?) to - (?)


Runway(s):  Initially 07/25   500   grass

Note: It seems that around 2015 another runway was added:   02/20   320   grass


NOTES:  It seems that by around 2009 a quite substantial hangar was built. Still visible in 2020, but, the aerial picture above for 2020 does not appear to show clear evidence that the 07/25 airstrip was still being used?
