I wonder if anybody can kindly offer advice as to when this postcard was produced? And, why was the registration of the Piper PA-28 airbrushed out?

NOTES:
This aerodrome was served by a highly controversial Discontinuance order by the Mid Suffolk District Council in (?). The ‘draconian’ restrictions stated: No twin engine aircraft. No aircraft over 180hp or 1200kg AUW. No single seaters, no microlights, no helicopters and perhaps most amazing of all - no gliders! Also no more than twenty aircraft movements a day.

Make no mistake about it there is a very strong movement of utterly ruthless people determined to have all private aviation closed down forever in England. They are small in number but often very influential. Heavens knows what motivates these incredibly small-minded people or what has caused their hateful ideas about the ‘evil’ of people wanting to and loving to fly.

Many of them have made their way into local Borough and County Councils and of course it is not just general aviation they want to destroy but, it would appear, the whole fabric of our society eventually. Or so it seems judging from their actions in recent years. One has to wonder what it was, that first generated such hatred in these people.

THEY HAVE NOT WON
GA is perhaps the easiest target to attack first of course. These people are more than happy to have excessively noisy motorbikes around, and passing their front doors, but the relatively quiet drone of an aeroplane, whilst flying nearby, seems to arouse extreme anger. Obviously they need help and counselling.

SUFFOLK has, it appears, been the worst hit so far and a very serious attempt was later made to close every private airfield in CAMBRIDGESHIRE which fortunately was fiercely resisted, fought in the law courts and eventually defeated. But don’t expect them to give up.

Note: This aeroplane in the first picture, in a different colour scheme, suffered a very serious crash whilst banner towing in 2010 for the UKIP political party led by Nigel Farage. A man who, having jointly led the Brexit campaign in 2016 - which against all expectations won in the referendum - and presumably realising that the shit was about to hit the fan - immediately decamped to Bruxelles. So much for having principles!
