42 OTU  (Armstrong Whitworth Whitleys and Albemarles. Also Bristol Blenheims)
 




Location: 3nm S of Ashbourne, just W to WSW of Wyaston village

Period of operation: Military:   1942 to 1945

2012: 02/20   (possibly others used?)


NOTES: This WW2 airfield has been used as the Darley Moor Racecourse since 1965 it appears. Originally, and still, for motorbikes and more recently cycling events.
