Dartmouth flying sites


Note: This map only gives the position of Dartmouth town within the UK. If anybody can kindly offer advice, especially on the WW2 aitstrip and the later private airstrip, this will be much appreciated.

DARTMOUTH BRITANNIA ROYAL NAVY COLLEGE:  Helipad

Military user:  Fleet Air Arm

NOTES: It appears that helicopters have been landing here since at least 1961. Indeed a picture of a Westland Dragonfly on the grass in front of the College can be found on the excellent Devon Airfields Index web-site. A seperate dedicated helicopter base was established at NORTON - see seperate entry.
