A MICHAEL T HOLDER GALLERY
We have Mike Holder, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for locating this venue.
Note: Both the photo and newspaper article were published in the Hampshire Telegraph on the 19th May 1933.
Note: The Google ground view was taken looking west from the A32. The local area and area views are from my Google Earth © derived database.
NOTES: The main purpose of this 'Guide' is to try and record as many flying sites in the U.K. as possible. A hopeless task at best of course. But, we are persevering! Not least with the venues used by the 'Flying Circus' operators in the between war years - 1919 to 1939. It needs to be remembered that these venues, even if used for just one day, had to be officially licensed 'aerodromes. In the early days especially, subject to inspections of 'Men from the Ministry' to survey the site and determine its suitability. Often with limitations being imposed. Later, the more respected operators could, in effect, become self regulating - but - they still had to submit their particulars for approval.
