91 Sqdn   (Vickers-Supermarine Spitfires)

302, 308 & 317 (Polish) Sqdns         (Vickers-Supermarine Spitfires)

Location:  S of the B2124, W of the A22, W & SW of Golden Cross
Note: Not to be confused with the later GA airfield situated to the SW. See seperate entry.

Period of operation: Military 1944 only?

Runways: WW2: (Somerfield Track)
WSW/ENE   1463   grass            SSW/NNE   1280   grass

NOTES: It appears this WW2 Advanced Landing Ground was once known as RIPE in WW2 but by December 1944 at least it appears the name DEANLAND was in use. Does this indicate use of this site before 1944?
