Deeping St James

Note: This map only shows the location of Deeping St James within the UK.

DEEPING St JAMES: Private airstrip

Operated by: Anglo-Dansk Marine Engineering Co Ltd?

Location: In/near Deeping St James, E of the A15, about 6nm NNW of Peterborough city centre

Period of operation: 1970s only?

NOTES: In the mid 1970s it seems that only the Piper PA-28 Cherokee 180E G-AZDX belonging to Anglo-Dansk was based here.

As this village is right on the County border, I suppose the airstrip could have been in NORTHAMPTONSHIRE? But that would place it on the 'wrong' side of the River Welland. Clearly just a guess at best, I'd imagine the airstrip would more likely be roughly east of the village?

If anybody can kindly offer more advice, this will be very welcome.
