Droitwich flying sites

Note: This map only shows the position of 'The Heliport')

DROITWICH see also DODDER HILL

DROITWICH: Private airstrip

Operated by: Mr G N Richardson?

NOTES: It appears that in the 1970s there was a strip near Droitwich where the Piper PA-22 Caribbean 150 G-ARIL registered to G N Richardson Motors Ltd and the MBB-209 Monsun G-AZOB also registered to Mr G N Richardson were based. Does anybody know more?

In the September 2009 issue of Light Aviation magazine the Corby Starlet G-ILSE built by Steve Stride flew into a LAA North Wales Strut Fly-in at CAERNAFON from DROITWICH. Perhaps from the same strip?

DROITWICH: Private helipad  (Later known as The Heliport)
Aka:  STONEBRIDGE CROSS BUSINESS PARK

Operated by: 1980s to - : Midland Counties Helicopter (Services) Ltd, later Rotorspan Ltd

Location: E of A442, 1nm NW of Droitwich town centre

Landing area: 2000: 8.5m, (18m according to another 1998 account), square concrete pad

NOTES: Stiil in business and thriving in 2016 it appears.

However, it appears that another nearby helipad previously existed on the nearby Berry Hill Industrial Estate, and operated by Midland Counties Helicopter (Services) Ltd in the 1980s. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome.
