Note:  All five of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: Angus Gliding Club

Location: Roughly 2nm NNW of Glamis village (on the A94) and roughly W of Gateside village on the A928 about 2.5nm SSW of Kirriemuir

Runways: A look at the site on Google Earth seems to clearly indicate that the main runway was:

09/27   820   grass

Note: However, judging from the picture it appears that possibly two other runways are, or have been, used? 08/26   492   grass and 14/32   373   grass

NOTES: Initial info of the existence of this gliding site came from the AAIB report EW/C2012/08/01.

Extra info from Google and Google Earth.

A QUERY?

A search on the inter-web, in 2021, seems to indicate that the Angus Gliding Club is alive and well. But, this picture looks like no gliding site I have ever seen. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be most welcome. Pictures too are always much appreciated.

On the other hand, it also appears that the Club closed in 2015.
