Dysart flying sites
Note: This map only gives the position of Dysart within the UK. If anybody can provide a more exact location for the 1930s RAF airfield, this advice will be much appreciated.
DYSART: Temporary Landing Ground
Location: See entry below for a probable location(?)
NOTES: In late August/early September 1913 No.2 Squadron flew from MONTROSE to RATHBANE near Limerick in Ireland via STRANRAER (WIGTOWNSHIRE). Capt. Dawes, the first to go flying a Maurice Farman, was detained by fog after landing at DYSART. See STRANRAER for a fuller account of this pioneering flight.
DYSART: Military Landing Ground
