Location:  Just SSW of East Boldon on the A184, about 3nm NW of Sunderland town centre

Period of operation:  1990s (?) to circa 2009

Runways:  A subject in itself, and most unusual. As the pictures above show, up until 2002 at least, there were two:

07/25   240   grass            18/36   140   grass

However, by 2006 only the 07/25 runway was being used, and this appears extended, possibly up to 400 metres?

Then, by 2008 another much wider runway appears to the south of the site:   07/25   400   grass

NOTES:  By 2010 or thereabouts, this runway disappears. If anybody can kindly offer advice, this will be much appreciated.
