Operated by:  Mr  Philip Meeson to 2009?

From 2020:  Mr Peter Bishop

Location:  Just E of East Tytherley, W of the B3084, and about 6nm NW to NNW of Romsey

Period of operation:  ? to circa 2009.  Then 2020 to -

Runway(s):   1999:  18/36   530   grass              15/33   430   grass

2005:   18/36   530   grass

2008:   02/20   390   grass

2021:   02/20   600x6   grass

Note: It appears that the 02/20 runway, used before the airstrip closed, was previously a taxyway

NOTES:  Mr Philip Meeson was the founder of JET 2 and kept a de Havilland DH89A Dragon Rapide here. Plus possibly an aerobatic type.

Note: This picture by Peter Bishop. The airstrip will be just to the right of the reflection on the perspex. The grass circle further to the right is used by control-line models.

Late in 2020 I was kindly contacted by Mr Peter Bishop who told me that he had acquired the property in April 2020. A new N/S runway is in the process of being laid out. Also, a hangar for four aircraft will be constructed.

I got to know Peter Bishop when, several years ago, he employed me to undertake some aircraft moves for him. Notably in January 2008 when I collected the fuselage, (all that remained), of the unique Somers-Kendal SK.1, (from NYMPSFIELD) and a Miles Monarch from OAKSEY PARK. These I delivered to Les Pallis near Tours in France.

In August 2022 Peter Bishop kindly sent me these three pictures. The picture of his superb Miles M38 Messenger 2A, G-AJWB, was taken at WHITE WALTHAM. and he hopes to base it here in the near future - once a hangar has been constructed.

I acquired this property on 3. April 2020, and aim to re-establish the airstrip
