Note:  All three of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Location:  1.5nm SW of Rhayader town centre

Period of operation:  As the no sign of a hangar appears on a Google Earth © 2006 image, is it reasonable to suppose that this location became active at a later date?  Circa 2007/8 perhaps?

Runway(s):  As the 2009 shows, there is no sign of a defined runway. But a landing area orientated roughly 05/23 and about 370m long seems a reasonable guess?

The 2020 picture clearly shows two strips:   04/22   345   grass                  06/24   355   grass
Note: The gap in the hedge allowing the 06/24 runway appears circa 2017.

NOTES:  We have Karel Adams, a very good friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing this location out.

Typically, this site confounds my attempts to try and define the listings in the 'Guide'. As a general rule, a strip is a strip - singular. And a site with two or more runways is classed as an airfield. But can this site be reasonably called an airfield? With two such closely aligned strips - I cannot make my mind up. Clearly doesn't much matter in the greater scheme of things.

In September 2021, Graham Frost, another great friend of this 'Guide', tells us that four aircraft were based here in 2016.

As always in this 'Guide' if anybody can kindly offer advice about this location, it will be most welcome.
