Location:  Just N of the B6542/A66 junction, about 1.5 nm ESE of Appleby-in-Westmorland town centre

Period of operation:  Unknown?  Presumably from the 1990s to -

Runway:  12/30    About 400    grass

NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great of this 'Guide', for directing us to this location.

However, this field is almost certainly not known as ELLERHOLME! That is the address, quite nearby, of the owner of the Team Minimax 91A, G-BXCD, which was acquired in October 2009. The problem being of course that we had to call it something.

This said, the AAIB report EW/G2009/12/05, involving G-BXCD gave valuable clues. And the location was named as ELLERHOLME.

Graham searched the area on Google Earth, (as I did later), for a likely airstrip in the vicinty of the Ellerholme address. As the pictures above show, there are certainly typical signs of an airstrip here, and, a length of around 400 metres would be ideal for a Team Minimax. Plus, there appears to be a small hangar which looks about the right size for this aircraft.

But, needless to say, we could well be jumping to conclusions? If only I could find a picture on Google Earth which shows an aircraft. It is of course quite often a problem in preparing this 'Guide' that really good concrete evidence is hard to obtain. This is yet another fine example of needing help and therefore any advice will be much appreciated.
