NOTES: In 1977 this airfield appears only listed as HOLBEACH St JOHNS but it was obviously well established with several aircraft based here including: Auster 4s G-AJXV and G-ALYD, PA-22 Tri-Pacer 150 G-APZX of E.A.Morris & Co (Central Security Patrol) Ltd, (I wonder exactly what they did and was the Tri-Pacer actually used in ‘operational’ security duties?). Also based here were the PA-22 Tri-Pacer 160 G-ARHU, PA-22 Colt 108 G-ARKM, Cessna 150B G-ARZF, Jodel D.120A G-ASXU, PA-28 Cherokee 180 G-ATNB of Parkright (Wisbech) Ltd, the Cessna F.150L G-BAZR and Cessna FRA.150L G-BBXB both of Lonmet (Aviation) Ltd. And the Luton L.A.4a Minor G-BBEA. No mention I notice of the Fenland Aero Club at this date but could there be an association with Lonmet (Aviation) at that time?

PFA STRUT
For many years a PFA (Popular Flying Association) Strut base. I imagine this continues under the Light Aviation Association?
