Fern Hill Farm

Note: I could of course be barking up the wrong tree here. A search on the web in 2017 revealed a 'Great Fernhill Farm' in Gobowen, and the location of this is shown on the map. Is it likely that two farms in this small area would have 'Fern Hill Farm' in their names? Well, yes it is.

If anybody can kindly offer advice on this matter, it will be most welcome.

FERN HILL FARM: Temporary aerodrome

Operated by: Alan Cobham’s 1933 No.1 Tour of the UK

Location: Near or in Gobowen, 2.5nm NNE of Oswestry

Period of operation: 15th & 16th June 1933

NOTES: The address for this venue was ‘Fern Hill Farm, Gobowen'.

I used to live in Gobowen. My grandmother would point out a field on the outskirt of Gobowen which she call the airfield. The field was part of Fernhill farm.
