Fort Dunlop

FORT DUNLOP: Company helipad

Operated by: The Dunlop Tyre company

NOTES: Used only in the early 1970s it appears. Situated about 3nm W of ‘Spaghetti Junction’ just N of the M6 motorway.

At one time Dunlop tyres were very successful and famous in the UK at least. However, for various reasons they lost their edge, possibly when confronted by superior products coming from Europe, and the company folded.
