Note:  The first two pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©, the area view from my Google Earth © derived database.

Location: On Croft Road, Cosby, which is roughly 10nm SSW of Leicester City centre

Period of operation:  Possibly from 2010?

Runway:  It appears that a N/S runway is laid out just for use in these events. The 2010 picture above indicates a runway length of around 600 metres, whereas the 2016 picture indicates around 700 metres.

NOTES: My first info about this venue was a poster in Lutterworth stating that a ‘Victory’ Show was planned to take place here 8th & 9th August 2012. By all accounts a civil celebration of WW2 military accomplishments, especially D-Day. Aircraft of the period, including the BBMF, overflying and displaying.

A bit of research appears to reveal that a 'Victory' show has been held here since 2012, and still is. Indeed, possibly before 2012? 2010 seems a likely date?

A VERY NICE ADDITION FROM CLIVE BURKINSHAW

Clive kindly sent these pictures he took at the 2021 show.

NOTES:  A DC-3 or C-47? As so often regarding older aircraft, their history could fill a book. Much the case with this example. Registered in the UK over the years as being both a Douglas C-47B and a DC-3C, this example registered as G-ANAF but wearing RAF markings as KP220, has been operated by Aero Legends Leasing since September 2019. Built in 1944 it was once registered in the USA as N170GP. After being imported to the UK it spent many years flying with Air Atlantique.

The Hawker Hurricane Mk.1, G-HUPW, but painted as R4118 in RAF colours, once belonged to the Varcher family, but since October 2015 has been registered to Mr James Brown, operating it under the Hurricane Heritage banner.
