Location. In/near Foy, about 2.5nm N to NNW of Ross-on-Wye town centre, and roughly 16nm WNW of Gloucester city centre

Period of operation:  1964 to 1973

NOTES:  I have Mr Graham Frost to thank for this information. As he told me in June 2020:

"Head south from Ross-on-Wye on the A40. After about two miles head westward on the A49 to Hereford, take your first on the right signposted to Foy. This road runs on the western side of the river Wye and after three miles the airstrip is reached on your left. The hall is a short distance away on your right."

Graham tells me the Auster J/IN Alpha G-AJAB was based here from 1964 to early 1973, and this is supported by looking at the G-INFO web-site which shows that this Auster was registered to Mr Anthony Charles Netting with an address in Ross-in-Wye from 14/10/63 to 22/12/72. It is well worth looking up the history of this Auster as it went through a deluge of owners. An amazing history. Graham tells me it was last seen hanging in the roof of a barn near Guildford in the 1980s.

I have also come across a mention that an airstrip existed either here or in the vicinity in the 1980s. If anybody can kindly offer advice this will be most welcome.
