Military users: RFC/RAF   (Royal Flying Corps / Royal Air Force)

51 [Home Defence] Sqdn    (Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2 & B.E.12 types. Later Avro 504Ks)
 

Location: In/near Freethorpe village, about 7nm WSW of Great Yarmouth town centre

Period of operation: 1916 to 1919   (Some say 1915) 
 

Site area:   43 acres      503 x 457
