Frinton

Note:  This map only shows the position of Frinton-on-Sea within the UK. If anybody can kindly offer advice about the location of these venues - (possibly all the same?) - this will be much appreciated.

FRINTON: Temporary aerodrome?

NOTES: Surely this must be Frinton-on-Sea? The venue on the 21st August 1933 for Sir Alan Cobham’s No.2 Tour? There must be a certain delight in imagining this robust ‘Flying Circus’ arriving in the frightfully delicate Frinton environs where one wouldn’t dare risk sipping a cup of tea without a ‘pinky’ being raised in salute? And probably complaining about the frightful noise and commotion.

Cobham’s 1934 Tour visited Frinton again on the 29th August 1934.
