Frowds Flying Field

Note: The map is only my guess of where the location might have been. Influenced because in so many cases around the UK the large open parks, recreation grounds etc, which existed in the 1920s and 30s still exist.

FROWD’S FLYING FIELD: Civil aerodrome

Location: Kings Drive, Eastbourne

Period of operation: 1930s only?

NOTES: 1932 tour 100th venue! This was during 2nd & 3rd August when Alan Cobham’s National Aviation Day UK Display Tour came to town.

It is, given the name of this venue, highly tempting to think that this might also have been an aerodrome. Can anybody now confirm or deny that this was the case?
