39 [Home Defence] Sqdn (Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2, B.E.12 and S.E.5. Also Armstrong-Whitworth F.K.8. Later the Bristol F.2 Fighter)
Location: About 1nm SW of Fyfield village which is on the B184, also about 1nm NNW of High Ongar, and roughly 6.5nm ESE of Harlow
Period of operation: Military: 1916 to 1919 Civil: 1920s and 30s only?
Site area: WW1: 25 acres 338 x 320
NOTES: As is often the often the case in research for this 'Guide', confusion is easy when two, (or even more), entirely different but nearby sites are known by the same name. For example the 'Comment' below probably applies to my entry for FYFIELD (GA).

This comment was written on: 2020-04-20 12:52:352 aircraft that were regular visitors to Luton from Fyfield in 1967/8 were Cessna 310 G-ARIG and PA-22 G-ARJE
