NOTES:  We have Mr Graham Frost, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for pointing out this location.

It is for me quite important to include in this 'Guide' as many model flying sites as possible. There are for example quite a few listed from the early twentieth century and before. For a very good reason. Without any doubt the early development of fixed wing aircraft was entirely dependent on models to establish the basic principals. The now acknowledged 'grandfather' of aviation, as opposed to balloons, being Sir George Cayley. It is well worth having a 'Google' to read up on his astonishing history.

JUST A QUICK COMMENT
If anybody feels inclined to wonder why I have given this location in the County of Monmouthshire - it is because it is. The Counties of the UK still exist and it appears, only an Act of Parliament can change anything. Which it seems, has never happened.

The problem being, especially since WW2 and if anything getting worse, (especially as most modern map makers succumb to this awful trend), is to slap on to their maps the quite false, in most ways, purely administrative areas devised by County Councils etc. Always subject to changes for gawd knows how many reasons. Being just a tad cynical perhaps, these changes certainly serve to hide the 'paper trail' over time.
