Operated by:  No.2 Squadron from RNAS MONTROSE 

Location:  W of the A78, roughly 1.5nm SSE of Irvine town centre

Period of operation:  21st July until 2nd August 1913

We have Mike Holder, a great friend of this 'Guide', to thank for both discovering and then investigating what information might exist in press reports, plus adding the maps etc. I was certainly surprised by how much coverage the press made of this event.

The Short article One was published in the Dundee Evening Telegraph on the 22nd July 1913. Short article Two was also published on the 22nd July, but this time in the Dundee Courier.
