Note:  Both of these pictures were obtained from Google Earth ©

Operated by: Mr R W Gaskell?

Location: W of the A4137, S of the A49, just N of St Owens Cross, roughly 4.5nm WNW of Ross-on-Wye town centre

Period of operation: 1970s & 1980s?

Runway:  Possibly 18/36   450   grass (?)

NOTES: In the mid 1970s it seems that only the Robin DR.400/160 G-BAMT was based here.

I could well be mistaken as the 2015 picture above does show a strip being ploughed. This said it is well known that during dry periods especially signs of a pre-existing strip can last for a very long time indeed. Apart from the fact that this is exactly where I would expect to find this strip, Mr Graham Frost has kindly confirmed that the strip was in this field.
